A man has been charged after the RCMP recieved a firearms complaint in the area of Township Road 580 and Range Road 210 northeast of Redwater on Monday.
According to an RCMP news release, “On June 15, at approximately 5:15 p.m., Redwater RCMP responded to a report of shots fired near Township Road 580 and Range Road 210 at a rural residence.”
Redwater RCMP along with Smoky Lake and Westlock RCMP Detachments, Capital East and Redwater RCMP Traffic Services, RCMP Air Services, RCMP Emergency Response Team and Police Dog Services attended the scene.
Police say one victim and two other persons were evacuated from a residence and the suspect male was located at a separate residence around midnight and taken into custody without incident.
It is alleged the suspect male had made threats and shot a handgun several times. No one was injured, according to the RCMP.
Christopher Setera, 36, of the County of Thorhild, was charged with:
· Use of a firearm in the commission of an offence
· Possession of a firearm for a dangerous purpose
· Unauthorized possession of a firearm
· Uttering threats
· Disobey a court order
He was remanded into custody and will be appearing today in Fort Saskatchewan Provincial Court via CCTV.
