At approximately 1:30 a.m. on Sept. 13, Airdrie RCMP responded to a complaint of a recovered stolen vehicle.

Upon arrival at the residence where the stolen vehicle was located, it was determined that a male and female were being held against their will at the residence.

Police containment was set up and a short time later two suspects were arrested without incident. Both victims were scared but unharmed.

The preliminary investigation suggests that this incident was a direct result of those involved being associated with the illicit drug trade. A search of the residence resulted in the recovery of a loaded .45 caliber handgun.

One of the suspects was also taken to the hospital as a precaution as approximately one ounce of what is believed to be fentanyl and a half-ounce of methamphetamine drugs were seized from their person police say.
